![]() OUR MISSIONGianni Cycling Association is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering community in west Sonoma County through a shared love of cycling and commitment to building and maintaining sustainable local trail systems with our land managing partners. |
For more than 30 years, Gianni members have volunteered thousands of hours designing, building, and maintaining sustainable trails in west Sonoma County. We own and service trail building and maintenance equipment, and we draw on the expertise of our members, including land use planners, biologists, foresters, contractors, arborists, hydrologists, and more, to ensure our trails minimize environmental impact, will endure for future generations, and are fun to ride! |
We share a love for the incredible beauty of west Sonoma County and connecting to it through nature-based recreation, like cycling. As a club, we provide a community where like-minded folks can participate in group rides, engage in volunteer land stewardship opportunities, and meet socially during club picnics, campouts, and events. We also support youth programs to get more kids on bikes and provide education on responsible trail use. |
Gianni Cycling has built relationships over decades with our private and public landowner partners to collaborate on the development and maintenance of trails across different properties. With our trail planning and construction experience and volunteer member base, we’ve worked with our partners to provide high-quality trail experiences for outdoor enthusiasts throughout west Sonoma County. We are dedicated to nurturing these relationships and stewarding a sustainable trail system for future generations. |
Gianni Cycling has been constructing hand-built trails since 1991. Our philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for the environment and focuses on sustainable trail construction. We believe trails should complement and enhance the natural landscape and be built to minimize environmental impacts while providing a high-quality user experience. We work to design and construct our trails to ensure they are safe for all users and with something for all levels of ability. We believe in wet weather closures to preserve the integrity of the trail and prevent damage, minimize erosion created during muddy conditions, and avoid safety concerns. |
